THAT Council:
i. Endorse the 2016 Action Plan as a collaborative
approach through which local governments can
jointly advance a sustainable, resilient, and healthy
regional food system;
ii. Acknowledge the consolidation into the Action Plan
of food system actions already planned for
implementation by the municipality;
iii. Direct staff to explore applicable new collaborative
actions identified in the Action Plan; and
iv. Assign a designated staff person to coordinate
municipal participation in the implementation of the
Action Plan.

THAT Council pass the following resolution:
Be it resolved that the BC Federation of Students’
campaign to save adult basic education Don’t Close the
Doors be endorsed and;
Be it further resolved that Council request the Mayor to
write a letter to Minister Andrew Wilkinson stating
support for Adult Basic Education and requesting the
Ministry to reinstate funding for Adult Basic Education
programs and tuition fees be abolished on the programs
and;
Be it further resolved that the letter be copied to the BC
Federation of Students and the Douglas Students’
Union.

Foundation by providing $15,000 in financial support to leverage

celebration events for the 150th Anniversary of Canada’s
Confederation;
AND THAT the $15,000 funding contribution be referred to the
Finance Committee for identification of a funding source.
