Recommendation:
THAT City staff undertake a review of the new and
proposed cannabis regulations from both the Federal and
Provincial Governments as recommended in the report
dated February 5, 2018 from Mayor Mike Clay regarding
City Response to Provincial Cannabis Regulations;
AND THAT staff seek legal advice and report back to
Council with the following:
- all concerns and proposed amendments to bylaw,
licensing, inspection, policing, fire, environmental,
and other requirements;
- anticipated costs to the City to address new
regulations and requirements; and
- an examination of the tax sharing revenue model
