5.1 Recommendation:
THAT the following recommendations from the Finance
Committee Meeting of Tuesday, June 7, 2016 be ratified:
Project Consolidation
and Budget Adjustment –
MRN Road
Reconstruction
FC16/074
THAT financial contributions received in relation to Evergreen Line
construction in the amount of $121,312.50 be allocated to the
current capital year’s MRN Road Reconstruction Program
(CEN16106 – MRN Road Reconstruction) as recommended in the
report dated May 25, 2016 from Engineering and Parks Services
Department regarding Project Consolidation and Budget Adjustment
– MRN Road Reconstruction;
AND THAT grant revenue commitments received from ICBC in the
amount of $50,000.00 (Road Safety Improvement Program grant
funding) be allocated to the current capital year’s MRN Road
Reconstruction Program (CEN16106 – MRN Road Reconstruction);
AND THAT project CEN15105 – Road Reconstruction MRN be
closed, with the remaining funding in the amount of $605,130.00
reallocated to the current capital year’s MRN Road Program
(CEN16106 – MRN Road Reconstruction);
AND THAT staff continue with the completion of the 2016 MRN
Road Reconstruction program with a consolidated budget of
$1,865,442.50.

personal credit card instead of a City Purchasing Card.

THAT Council support the following resolution being
considered at the 2016 UBCM Conference:
“WHEREAS 1 in 8 men in British Columbia will be
diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime
representing the number one cancer risk to men;
AND WHEREAS the economic, family, and social
costs to our province would be significantly
diminished through increased awareness and early
detection;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that UBCM request
the provincial government make PSA testing free for
all men in the province to ensure all men have the
opportunity to have their prostate cancer diagnosed
as early as possible so that survival will be improved;

THEREFORE BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that UBCM
and its constituent members declare September to be
Prostate Cancer Awareness Month.”;
AND THAT September 2016 be proclaimed Prostate Cancer
Awareness Month in the City of Port Moody.
