advised that Port Moody does not accept the transfer
of responsibilities and funding of the Provincial major
highways;
2. Staff be authorized to open negotiations with the
Ministry of Transportation and Highways on an
agreement with regard to the necessary capital cost
repairs required prior to the City being prepared to
take over the full responsibility for maintenance and
operation of these roads;
3. Port Moody work with other municipalities and
organizations such as the UBCM and GVRD to ensure
that future downloading of services is not done
without prior consultation with municipalities.
